The most important check when hiring a limo or luxury car in Washington is the operator's licence. Ask the company for their licence number and verify it — operating without one is illegal, and the vehicle's insurance will be invalid. The chauffeur must also hold the correct licence for the vehicle type.

Ask to see the vehicle before booking if possible, or request recent photos. Check that the interior matches the promotional images — some companies use stock photos that do not represent their actual fleet. Confirm exactly what is included in the package: journey time, mileage, drinks (soft or champagne), red carpet, decorations, and whether waiting time is included. Get everything in writing. Ask about their policy if the vehicle breaks down on the day — a reliable company will have a backup plan.

Compare quotes from at least three operators. Prices vary widely, and the cheapest option may cut corners on vehicle maintenance or chauffeur quality. Read Google reviews looking for comments about the vehicle's condition, the chauffeur's professionalism, and whether the company delivered what was promised. For weddings, ask whether the chauffeur has experience with wedding timings and whether they can accommodate photo stops. Book well in advance for peak dates — proms and summer Saturdays fill up months ahead.
